EARTH FRIENDLY - that is our inspiration. Each product is created with earth friendly products and is meant to be a stylish alternative for people who care about our planet. Currently we are offering 100% organic cotton lunch bags, messenger bags and backpacks.
The idea for Seamless Planet began when, as a mother of twin 5 year olds, I was concerned to learn that some soft sided lunch boxes contain high levels of lead that can get into my children's lunches and into their young systems.
One of my sons has autism, and some serious environmental sensitivities related to his condition. For the last three years I have been meticulously working to improve his diet and environment. This means hepa filters, organic bedding, filtered water and a nutrient rich organic diet. I was furious that the very toxins I was trying to avoid may be nestled in his lunchbox! I looked all over for a new lunchbox that would be safe, and also fun to look at and use. I couldn't find one - thus, Seamless Planet was born.
In the process of treating my son's autism, I learned how to optimize our families immune systems by eating healthy organic food and by creating a non-toxic environment in our home. My research in these areas made me aware of the terrible harm we are doing to our earth by polluting our air and water and by creating toxic non-renewable products. The health of our planet and the health of our children are intimately connected. My family has come to understand the large part each individual plays in either helping or hurting our environment, and subsequently ourselves.
All proceeds from our lunchboxes, backpacks and messenger bags will be donated to the Brooklyn Autism Center, a non-profit organization I started to create a school where autistic children can enjoy a high quality, highly individualized education. The foundation is trying to raise money for the school and complementary ourtreach services for families of autistic children.
All of our actions have an effect on the world around us. Seamless planet acknowledges these connections and hopefully reminds us to act responsibly and do what is right for our earth. Our health and the health of our children depend on it.
